Primitives for agent-to-agent settlement on existing card rails
Most discussion of agentic payments stops at the demo: an agent calls an API and money appears to move. The hard part is settlement, and settlement is where the rails you actually control decide what’s possible.
Why the rails matter
Real-time agent-to-agent payment needs issuance, a settlement network, and a regulatory posture that permits programmatic movement. We have all three: card issuance, central-bank relationships, and access across MENA. That’s not a feature list, it’s the reason the primitives below are buildable here and not in a greenfield startup.
The primitives
- A scoped agent credential that can authorize a payment within a mandate.
- A settlement path that clears in real time against existing rails.
- A reconciliation layer that maps agent actions back to a human-readable audit trail.
We’ll go deep on each in future posts.
